Director, Supply Chain and Material Management

Job Overview We are seeking a Director of Supply Chain and Material Program Management (SCMM) to join our Supply Chain and Material Management (SCMM) organization.
This position can be located at either our Huntsville, AL or Camden, AR facility.
Travel to other Aerojet Rocketdyne sites, supplier locations, and customer facilities is expected.
The Director of Supply Chain and Material Management (SCMM) will be responsible for leading all supply chain activities required to meet the assigned portfolio of business unit sectors requirements.
The selected individual will also be responsible for collaborating with other Supply Chain functions, other functions (e.
g.
Program Office, Business Management, Scheduling and Material Planning, Quality, etc.
) and Supplier and Customer leaders to improve material availability and supplier performance.
Knowledge of aerospace industry products, integrated supply chain management teams, government procurement requirements and industry standard supply chain practices is required.
Candidate must be a proactive leader with the ability to make responsive decisions that balance the strategic and tactical needs of the Supply Chain organization and the Business Unit.
The Director of SCMM will report to the SCMM Business Unit Lead.
As such, the Director of SCMM will have the responsibility to:
accept program direction from company executives and the Program Office and implement it expeditiously and conscientiously; manage the supply chain portion of assigned programs to the best of their abilities within approved resources; be customer-focused and provide the best, most cost-effective systems or capabilities, and within contract bounds.
While conducting these responsibilities the Director of SCMM will apply continuous improvement to; innovate, strive for optimal solutions and seek better ways to manage; be candid about supply chain status, including risks, problems, mitigations and solutions, likely outcomes and opportunities; prepare thorough estimates of financial and resources that are required to execute the assigned program scope; and manage the supply chain portion, including new supplier performance teams, within assigned programs to the best of their abilities to achieve the approved financial base-lined program objectives.

Essential Functions 100% - The Director of SCMM will be responsible for all aspects of supply chain performance required to achieve the assigned portfolio of programs requirements to include, but not limited, to the following:

Accept program direction from company executives and implement that direction expeditiously and conscientiously
Interact with intra-organizational managers concerning matters of significance to Aerojet Rocketdyne
Manage and supervise a team of Materiel Program Managers (MPM) to execute their portfolio of programs to the best of their abilities within the approved resources to achieve program objectives
Engage collaboratively with Scheduling and Material Planning on MRP improvements and utilization, and other aspects of Supply & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes
Provide leadership and strategic direction for all supply chain activities relating to the procurement of materials and services
Be candid about Supply Chain status, including risks and problems as well as potential solutions, likely outcomes and opportunities
Ensure the Supply Chain labor and material portion of their portfolio of programs meets the approved financial base-lined program awards, sales, profit and cash forecasts
Provide the best, most cost-effective systems or capabilities, and within contract bounds; innovate and strive for optimal solutions and seek better ways to manage
Propose and/or enact solutions, in coordination with other Supply Chain functions, other functions (e.
g.
Program Office, Business Management, Scheduling and Material Planning, Quality, etc.
) and Supplier and Customer leaders that drive improved schedule, affordability and quality performance from the supply base
Define resource requirements and manage departmental operating budgets to support those needs
Obtain, develop, manage and grow their personnel resources to achieve all assigned performance goals, both direct and indirect
Support supply chain strategy development and estimating ensuring compliant and competitive proposal inputs
Conduct briefings and project review meetings for top management and customer representatives
Foster ethical conduct, practices and personal integrity throughout Aerojet Rocketdyne Requirements Requires a Bachelors degree (or higher) in an appropriate discipline and at least fourteen (14) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 4 years of management of a discipline/business unit.
Additional Requirements:

Career progression demonstrating growth in responsibility, accountability, and authority.

Demonstrated supervisory and strong communication skills managing a team with multiple assignments and priorities.

Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization May be required to obtain and maintain a U.
