International Trade and Compliance Specialist

Overview
Aerojet Rocketdyne is a world-recognized aerospace and defense leader providing propulsion and energetics to its space, missile defense, strategic, tactical missile and armaments customers throughout domestic and international markets. As our international business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced International Trade and Compliance Specialist to ensure that the business maintains compliance with all U.S. regulatory requirements. This position could be located in Camden, Arkansas or Huntsville, Alabama.
The International Trade and Compliance Specialist implements comprehensive internal export and import controls to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies in the conduct of international marketing, business development, supply chain and other business activities of the Company. Interprets regulations as they apply to the products, financial processes and other processes, practices and procedures of the Company; establishes and maintains relations with appropriate government regulatory agencies; implements operational processes for assuring trade compliance through gate reviews of technical data, foreign travel, foreign visits and export and import shipments; supports training and audit/assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls; and supports initiatives and other miscellaneous projects as needed.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
Work is performed with minimal direction:
35% - Interprets federal, state and international regulations as they apply to Company products, processes, practices and procedures. Analyzes and recommends policies and procedures for international trade compliance activities; develops recommendations for improving the company?s processes; and participates in the preparation of special and recurring reports and analytical studies on complex administrative issues. Implements international trade compliance regulations, policies, procedures, program license strategies, and training and audit activities.
15% - Reviews technical and other export requests and makes appropriate recommendations to ensure compliance with government regulations. Supports ITC investigations, including fact gathering and documentation of findings in support of any resulting voluntary disclosures. Participates in the creation of metrics, analysis of trends and corrective action plans.
15% - Ensures licenses, agreements and records are maintained in accordance with the United States government regulations. Prepares documentation and assigns classifications, tariff codes and other information to ensure compliance with various government regulations. Establishes and maintains relations with appropriate government regulatory agencies.
15% - Participates in update and/or creation of international trade compliance related training materials based on published policy/procedure, including any automated/on-line training. Assists in development of educational plans, materials, and resources to educate employees in the overall objectives of the compliance program and specifies substantive areas of compliance for their activities. Provides training and guidance to other organizations engaged in international trade compliance activities.
10% - Supports audits to measure effectiveness of day-to-day operations.
5% - Maintains a current understanding of regulatory trends and changes in law and advises appropriate management staff of trends affecting their activity.
5% - Supports government assessments, company initiatives, record keeping, administrative tasks and other miscellaneous projects and reporting requests as needed.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and ten (10) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Desirable Qualifications:
+ Prior experience providing ITC support to Department of Defense and/or NASA production and development programs.
+ Prior experience with OCR Ease software.
+ Prior experience dealing with requirements specified in ITAR, EAR and United States Customs regulations related to rocket propulsion and munitions technologies.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
